I just finished a new resource called the Violent Communication Field Guide.

It’s not a download-and-forget-it PDF. It’s a living Google Doc I’ll be updating over time — a reference for people who want to improve their ability to spot and ethically respond to violent communication.

Right now, the field guide covers seven of the most common verbal tactics used in media, politics, and personal relationships:

Gaslighting. The Big Lie. Strawman. Whataboutism. Gish Gallop. Moving the Goalposts. Dog Whistling.

Each entry includes a simple definition, a recent political example, and a grounded way to respond without getting pulled into the mud.

This isn’t designed to help you “win arguments.”
It’s here so you can protect your clarity when you choose your moment to speak up.

If you want the guide, here’s the link:

If you find it useful, forward this email to someone who might need it.

Thanks again for being part of this early group.

More soon,
— Austin
